Key Responsibilities

Perform welding on shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical work documents

Set up and operate welding equipment and hand tools
-
Select proper materials, fillers, joint designs, and heat ranges
-
Fabricate and install fixtures and jigs for proper weld alignment
-
Work independently and mentor junior welders
-
Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in shop and confined-space environments
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED with welding apprenticeship, technical school, military, or shipyard experience
-
Ability to obtain government base access and security clearance
-
Welding certifications and knowledge/practical skills testing required
-
U.S. citizenship required
Work Environment
-
Indoor shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and moving equipment
-
Requires lifting up to 50 lbs and working in confined or overhead spaces
-
Travel and overtime may be required
